Except for one trooping voyage to the Dardanelles in 1915, Suevic remained in service to Australia throughout World War I. Her White Star career ended in October 1928 when she was converted into a whale processing factory ship and renamed Skytteren Skytteren. She was scuttled near Maseskjaer, Sweden, in April 1942 while trying to evade German navy ships.
