We can now be thankful for CGI (computer-generated imagery) technology, which allows spectacular and realistic movie effects to be created better and much less expensively inside a computer rather than on and within a much-loved liner.
There’s really only one good reason to see “The Last Voyage.” Since most of the film was shot on board Ile de France, we see many views of of the ship’s beautiful public rooms in gorgeous Metrocolor—until they’re blown up.
Incidentally, the IMDB website has documented over a dozen goofs in the movie.
