Queen Elizabeth 2 maintained a regular transatlantic schedule for nearly 40 years. Since her retirement from Cunard Line, and a failed attempt to convert her into a floating hotel, she has sat idle in Dubai. In January 2013, QE2’s owner announced that the liner would be sent to an unknown location in Asia to serve as a floating luxury hotel, shopping mall, and museum. Yet, as of November 2014, QE2 remains in Dubai.
