What the world needs today is another exciting ocean liner race. (Since there’s currently a distinct ocean liner shortage, cruise ships will have to do.)
Back in December 1892, Cunard Line’s Etruia (1885) raced Inman Line’s City of Paris (1888) across the Atlantic from New York to Queenstown (now Cobh).
Here’s the whole story, as reported in 24 December 1892 edition of the Philadelphia Times.
Please help keep Ocean Liners Magazine afloat. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
