Video released by the Royal Thai Navy shows the classic cruise ship Ocean Dream, which capsized on 27 February, resting on her side in shallow water near Laem Chabang, Thailand.

According to the Fleet Mon website, the Chinese-owned vessel was anchored at Laem Chabang port for more than a year with no crew or maintenance services. Ocean Dream’s owner was reportedly asked to move the ship out of Thai waters at some point before she capsized.

With no response so far from the ship’s owner, port authorities may be facing a lengthy process to decide what needs to be done. As things currently stand, Ocean Dream poses a potentially serious ecological threat to the surrounding area due to leaks of fuel and other contaminants.
